Like many parents I get frustrated and concerned with the amount of time my teenagers spend on the computer and specifically the internet. I just found this very interesting tool called Cozi (www.cozi.com). Has anyone else tried it yet? It is free and seems like a great online organizing system. I will report back after trying it.

Update March 31, 2010 – After using the system for a week I have found a few frustrations with the system. I have written to the owners of Cozi to ask if a fix will be forthcoming.

In my house, training teenagers to take a message has been pretty easy. Getting them to give me the message – not so much. So, my solution is to have everyone in my household write telephone messages in a carbonless message book. That way if they forget to give me the top copy I still have the bottom copy as a back up.

My friend Lisa Henderson, part owner of Impact Visual Communications, told me that she likes this strategy because she can look back and find people’s phone numbers.
